Eva representing…

Our very own Eva took part in a beach-volleyball contest at the weekend. The two things Eva enjoys are volleyball and proporta and here is a snap of her showing off her skills on the beach as well as promoting proporta at the same time.

Eva showing her skills…

This is what Eva had to say about the  event  ‘ The tournament is the highest competition in UK in beach-volleyball called VEBT series. It’s a series of tournaments all over UK – total of 5 tournaments out of which the fifth one is the national finals. The tournament in this picture were taken last weekend in Weymouth. The 29th Weymouth Beach Volleyball Classic sponsored by RAF Careers was another major success for the town and in total 68 teams from all over Great Britain and Europe took part in the men’s and women’s competitions of which I finished 3rd (bronze) in Women’s pairs’

Proporta’s new iPad 2 accessory range

Proporta quick to produce a record number of cases for the new iPad2…

Thursday 3rd March 2011, Brighton, England: Proporta, the Brighton based manufacturer of protective gadget cases and accessories, is quick off the block to produce a range of accessories and cases for the new Apple iPad 2. Proporta announced 17 new products designed specifically for the new Apple iPad 2. There are 15 different protective cases ranging from £19.95 to £59.95 and two Advanced Screen Protectors, which is a record number of announcements for one device from Proporta. All the cases are available on www.proporta.com and will start shipping in four weeks time.

Guy Monson, Co-Founder and Director of Proporta said, “It’s great to see magnets being used in the new iPad to switch the device on and off. Proporta will certainly be making use of that functionality in our new line-up of cases and accessories. I know we’ll also be working with our partners in the fashion industry to make sure our accessories stand out from the crowd.”

The range includes two styles of Proporta’s unique Aluminium Lined Leather Case, an eco-friendly Proporta Smart Recycled Leather Case, two exclusive Mizu flexible TPU shells, five fashion-focused cases from the Proporta Shine collection and a distinctive Maya II pouch range. Go Marathon Max

On Sunday 18th April 2010, Max will attempt (and succeed) to run the inaugural Brighton Marathon… all 26 miles of it. The race kicks off in Preston Park, heads down to the seafront, along to Rottingdean via Ovingdean, goes west to Shoreham Power Station and ends on Madeira Drive. You’ll no doubt agree that it’s a very long way.

If you know Max you’ll probably know that he works for us. Proporta also set up a charity a couple of years back – giving bright (but really poor) children in Sri Lanka the chance to an education that they wouldn’t normally get. It’s very small and very efficient, and unlike some charities with large overheads, Proporta covers all admin costs themselves. Meaning that every penny raised from every mile that Max runs, will go directly to the kids.

If you’d like to donate to the Proporta Education Foundation and give Max a bit of motivation to finish the big race, please do so by clicking the donate link below.

Here’s some snaps to show you how hard he’s been training…

Come see Achilles for charity

Diego (Proporta Account Manager) and his band, Achilles, are playing at The Hope in Brighton on Saturday 27th March. It’s £3.00 to get in and all proceeds go directly to the Proporta Education Foundation. All are welcome.

Proporta enjoy their first snow day

No one can honestly say that they don’t get excited by the snow. It brings out the inner child in everyone. Which was certainly the case when the majority of Proporta employees woke up yesterday morning to see Brighton covered in a blanket of the white stuff.

Lynnette brought us all the wonderful news that we would have our first “Snow Day with a Twist” (the twist being that we had to work from home), but we still managed to find a moment to make a snowman and take a couple of pictures…

Hiran got to build his very first snowman:

Lynnette braved a cliff-edge in the name of photography:

And Sam caught one of his neighbours treading very carefully down his transformed street:

Not everyone was lucky enough to get out of the office for the day… Max and Gary (part of the Proporta Logistics team) braved the frosty weather and Max walked for over an hour and a half to get into work (now that’s dedication). Cabin fever soon set in though and after some keen negotiating skills on Gary’s part, Max was caught on camera making snow angels in his undercrackers. We would’ve added these images to the Proporta Blog, but we’re not quite sure the world is ready yet.
