MWC: Mozilla announces new Firefox smartphones for 2013

Mozilla has revealed that it will be entering the smartphone market this year at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Announcing its brand new Firefox mobile OS at MWC, Mozilla has already partnered with device manufacturers and mobile networks all over the world, making it almost ready for market.

LG, Alcatel and ZTE are first in line to build new Firefox smartphones that will be available to buy in nine countries, not including the United States. Set for release in largely emerging and developing nations, it is clear that Mozilla is targeting a particular market.

The web-based Firefox operating system has now launched its app store, Firefox Marketplace, in preparation.
